Not this again,” I moaned. “Jonathon, there are more important things in this world than me.”
He looked thoughtful. “You’re right,” he said and I thought I might finally be getting through to him. He continued, “Chocolate gelato,” he grinned.
I bit my lip. “If what you feel is wrong then what I feel for you is doubly wrong.”
“Do two wrongs make a right?” he asked.
“No, not usually,” I said.
“Not usually,” he repeated. “Does that mean you’re willing to try?”
Siva and Sloane
There’s nothing to say. The past is in the past for a reason. You either choose to learn from it or repeat it. I was never one to read a book twice and I won’t do the same with my life.”
Siva
Devak. Did you love Devak?” he growled at me.
“Yeah… yeah I did. We were always happy.”
He glared at me. “Then it wasn’t love Sloane. Not really. You may have loved him but you weren’t in love. When you fall in love with somebody you fall… hard and you can’t get back up. You feel sick and breathless. You’re the farthest thing from happy,” he spat.
Siva and Sloane
Sloane,” he said pulling away when I started to fall out of his arms. “It’s killing me to fight this. I can’t. I don’t want to. Not anymore.”
I swayed and his arms steadied me.
“Are you okay?” he asked. His lips quirked. “I might have to refrain from kissing you if you’re going to faint.
Siva asking about my past? Were we going to sing campfire songs and hold hands now?
Sloane
Sloane, I want you to know that…” he swallowed. “That I… care,” he flinched.
I nodded my head. He cared. It wasn’t a declaration of love but I was pretty sure it was all I was going to get. It was good enough… for now.
Siva
I was falling hard, for Siva Kapur, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get back up.
Sloane
We both laughed. Bryce pulled into the parking spot next to Caeden’s and hopped out. He looked between the three of us. “I missed something and it was big. I know it,” he said.
Caeden ruffled his younger brother’s hair. “Don’t worry. It was just Travis, like always.”
Bryce shook his shaggy hair, once again reminding me of a dog, and said, “Want me to teach him a lesson?” he did a karate chop in the air. “I can take him,” he added.
-Bryce and Caeden
Are you throwing a temper tantrum?” he asked with a grin. “Because this is not Toddlers and Tiaras."
-Caeden
