Dyerإنني أشعر وكأنني أستطيع الوقوف في قرارة نفسي (فيما وراء كياني المادي ) وأن أسمح لنفسي بأن تكون شيئاً ما أريده دون الحاجة إلى تعريف نفسي بما قامت به من أعمال ، فهناك بعض المعارف أو الكيانات الداخلية تقوم بهذه المهمة ، ومثل هذه المعرفة - أو الكيان الداخلي - تقاوم من يقومون بالوصف الخارجي .
لم يعد يهم مقدار ما قمت بإنجازه ، ولكن ما يهم هو أنني أشعر بتوافق مع إحساسي الخاص بالإنتماء إلى الجنس البشري ، فلم تعد بطاقات التعريف ذات أهمية .
أنه لشئ غريب ورائع أن أعيش حياتي وفقاً لما هو حقيقي ، وأن أرحب في نفس الوقت بأولئك الذين يعيشون حياة مختلفة دون أن أحكم على تصرفاتهم .
وبالمثل فقد وجدت من السهل أن أنتشر وأتألق وفقا لنظامي الخاص في الحياة ، وأن أتجاهل مطالبة الآخرين لي بأن أعيش حياتي وفقاً لطريقتهم ...
