Bankruptcy cleans out the system. What’s wrong with that? South
Korea went through this in the late 1990s. They didn’t have anyone
to bail them out, and they had to go through the pain. Sweden did
it in the early 1990s. Mexico did it. Russia did it. The list goes on
and on. Competent people take over the assets from incompetent
people and rebuild from a solid base. Business has always been survival
of the fittest and Darwinism at its best. After all, this is what capitalism
is all about.
When people tell you that this
venerable firm or private investor invested X millions of dollars in
that entity and that it is a good investment, be skeptical and stay open
to the option of running as far as you can in the opposite direction.
We have all seen the biggest names on Wall Street along with the
largest sovereign wealth funds on the planet make the dumbest investments
ever made. Do your due diligence; ask the right questions, and
most important, check out the character of the people involved unless
you want to end up being prey to another master of the universe à
la Bernie Madoff.
If the world economy is going to revive, I believe commodities
are going to lead it back up. If the world economy is not going to
revive, commodities are still the place to be—especially with governments
printing so much money. Look at the 1970s. The world
economy was in the tank, but commodities did very well.
Alwasy remember.... We are engaged in a battle for the continuation of
our capitalist, free-market economic model; our way of life; and our
liberty. The enemy is anticapitalist, believes in big government, embraces
collectivist ideologies, and has, over the past century, infiltrated every
level of our government and most of the banking industry. They don’t care about patriotism, although they may sport the red, white, and
blue and the stars and stripes on their bumper stickers. They don’t
care about personal responsibility or civic duty. They don’t share your
sense of honor. All they care about is power and control over your
money and every aspect of your life.

is how much should we regulate and who the regulators should
be. We went overboard on deregulation under Reagan. Under
Bush, many people lost in the casino. Now we have the Obama
administration overreacting and overreaching with regulation that
does the exact opposite of wealth creation. If we are to have change
we can believe in, then we could start by replacing the majority
of the lawyers in regulatory agencies with actual experienced, successful
business veterans. They would have recognized the early warning
signs of many of the financial debacles created by the bubble-bust
cycle.
We were born a nation of entrepreneurs. That is why so many
people came to this country from so many different nations and cultures
around the globe. The entrepreneur sees the opportunity, takes
action, and successfully learns from the experience. They go on to
create wealth. They become part of that demographic that is called
“the rich.” They, not the government, drive the economy and create
jobs. Only a mind with an envious, greedy perspective would consider
punitively taxing the rich as a viable solution to our fiscal miasma.
This is a solution springing from the fount of ignorance and deemed
wise only by fools.
Always remember: Business is War.
At the end of the day, the one with access to the best intel wins. This
applies as much to business and politics as it does to the military. Ask
every single billionaire and military or political strategist out there.
They will all confirm that as fact.
George Bernard Shaw once said: “Capitalism has destroyed our
belief in any effective power but that of self interest backed by force.”
When liberals make the argument that capitalism is the cause of all
of our problems, they are either speaking out of abject ignorance
or being totally disingenuous to protect their own political interests.
We have not had true free-market capitalism in this country on any
wide scale. Where we have had economic successes in this nation’s
history, it has been those times when people have done something
outside of the government’s involvement. Every single time the federal
government has been involved, it has created chaos, waste, and
corruption. The historical record is overwhelmingly one of gross
incompetence.
