"Non li hanno dimenticati: li hanno trovati troppo difficili", disse lei. "Vogliono un Dio che abbia cura di loro e non pretenda che lottino per l'Illuminazione e cancelli i peccati con il pentimento. Non è così, non la sarà mai: ma forse è l'unico modo in cui i non illuminati possono pensare ai loro Dei."
Lancillotto sorrise amaramente. "Forse una religione che impone a ciascuno di operare per vite e vite alla conquista della propria salvezza è troppo per gli umani. Vogliono la giustizia subito: e questo è ciò che gli promette la nuova razza di preti."
Era la verità, e Morgana chinò la testa angosciata. "Poichè la loro visione di Dio plasma la loro realtà, sarà effettivamente così...la Dea era reale finché gli umani le rendevano omaggio e creavano la sua forma. Ora si creeranno il Dio che credono di volere....forse quello che meritano. Ma non penso che vorrei vivere in un mondo simile, Lancillotto.
Il mondo della Magia si allontana sempre di più dal mondo dove regna il Cristo. Non ho nulla contro di lui, ma solo contro i suoi preti che negano il potere della Grande Dea oppure l'avvolgono nella veste azzurra della Signora di Nazareth e affermano che era vergine. Ma che cosa ne può sapere una vergine delle sofferenze dell'umanità?
