Gustave Le Bonإن الهيبه هي عباره عن نوع من الجاذبيه التي يمارسها فرد ما على روحنا أو يمارسها عمل أدبي ما أو عقيده م. و هذه الجاذبيه الساحره تشل كل ملكاتنا النقديه و تملاً روحنا بالدهشه و الإحترام.
و العواطف المثاره على هذا النحو لا يمكن تفسيرها ككل العواطف. و لكن ربما كانت من نفس نوع التحريض الذي يصيب شخصاً ممغنطاً. إن الهيبه أساس كل هيمنه.
في زمن المساواه لا يعود البشر يثقون ببعضهم البعض بسبب تشابههم, ولكن هذا التشابه يعطيهم ثقه لا حدود لها تقريباً في حكم الجمهور و رأيه, و ذلك لأنهم يجدون من غير الممكن ألا تكون الحقيقه في جهة العدد الأكبر بما أن الجميع يمتلكون نفس العقل
