Тя го позна още в първия миг, но не можеше да повярва, че такъв човек съществува. Той бързаше, дори не влезе вътре. Колата го чакала долу с хора. Разказа на крак одисеята на романа. Намерил ръкописа чак в края на смяната си. Съобразил, че в тези страници е вложен доста труд главно от машинописката. Изправен пред невъзможността да ги занесе на притежателя, той се заел да издири адреса чрез семейството в Бояна, пред чиято вила бе запомнил, че е оставил една завеяна пътница. Разбира се, само по предположение, че може би измежду многобройните му и многолики клиенти тя е била злополучната авторка. А може след полунощ на заспиване да е попрочел някоя и друга глава от романа и да е отгатнал зад редовете силуета на една странна птица, неориентирана за посоките на града и света, изгубена и тъжна. И много смешна.
Тя стоеше на прага, изумена и щастлива, не вече от връщането на ръкописа, а от самото откриване на такъв човек. И от нещо друго: в неговото младо, насмешливо лице тя позна чудесния Случай, който й подсказваше, че има смисъл героите й да продължат да живеят - може и на тях да се падне да пътуват с такси № 28-29 из София, карано от един млад, мълчалив по време на пътуването шофьор.

It was Valentine's Day and I had spent the day in bed with my life partner, Ketel One. The two of us watched a romance movie marathon on TBS Superstation that made me wonder how people who write romantic comedies can sleep at night.
At some point during almost every romantic comedy, the female lead suddenly trips and falls, stumbling helplessly over something ridiculous like a leaf, and then some Matthew McConaughey type either whips around the corner just in the nick of time to save her or is clumsily pulled down along with her. That event predictably leads to the magical moment of their first kiss. Please. I fall all-the-time. You know who comes and gets me? The bouncer.
Then, within the two hour time frame of the movie, the couple meet, fall in love, fall out of love, break up, and then just before the end of the movie, they happen to bump into each other by "coincidence" somewhere absolutely absurd, like by the river. This never happens in real life. The last time I bumped into an ex-boyfriend was at three o'clock in the morning at Rite Aid. I was ringing up Gas-X and corn removers.
